Who I Work With
Built for Alberta's Working Businesses
Contractors, trades, farmers, owner-operators, self-employed professionals -- if you're running a real business and your bookkeeping is keeping you up at night, you're in the right place. I work with clients who want clean, reliable books and someone they can actually talk to.
Monthly Bookkeeping
Ongoing, consistent work each month so nothing falls behind and you always know where you stand.
Catch-Up & Cleanup Work
Behind on your books? It happens. I can get things sorted out and back on track without judgment.
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation
Every transaction accounted for, every account reconciled. No loose ends.
Financial Reporting
Clear reports that tell you what's actually happening in your business -- in plain language.
How It Works
Simple from the Start
Free 15-Minute Review
We start with a quick conversation about where your books stand and what you actually need. No pitch, no pressure -- just clarity.
A Clear Plan
I'll outline exactly what needs to be done and what it will cost before any work begins. You decide if it makes sense.
Ongoing Support
Once we're set up, I handle the books consistently. You focus on running your business. I keep the numbers clean.
Straightforward Work, Done Right
There's no shortage of bookkeepers out there. What's harder to find is someone who communicates clearly, shows up consistently, and doesn't make you feel like you need a translator to understand your own financials. That's what I try to do.
I work primarily in QuickBooks Online because it's reliable, widely supported, and makes it easy for your accountant or CPA to pick up at year-end. Everything is kept current, reconciled, and organized -- so when tax season hits, there are no surprises and no scramble. If you're on a different system, we can talk through what makes sense for your situation.
I focus on small businesses because that's where good bookkeeping makes the biggest difference. A large corporation can absorb a bookkeeping mess. A small one often can't. Clean books aren't a luxury -- they're how you stay in control of your business.

Joe Lentini — Founder, Prairieline Bookkeeping
Before starting Prairieline, Joe worked at an accounting firm where he regularly saw small businesses arrive at tax time with books in serious disarray. By the time they reached a CPA, the cost to fix the problem was enormous -- and sometimes the damage was already done. The lesson was hard to miss: the best time to help a business isn't after the crisis. It's before it.
That experience led Joe to go work directly inside a small business that needed significant bookkeeping help. It reinforced the same lesson from a different angle. When a business is that far behind, the messy books aren't the problem -- they're the symptom. He came away with a clear mission: help small businesses build clean, reliable bookkeeping systems before things get out of hand.
Joe started Prairieline Bookkeeping because he wanted to help more than one business at a time. When you work inside a single company, you can only ever help one owner. Prairieline exists to change that.
Small businesses are the backbone of the Alberta economy. The oil contractors, the farmers, the tradespeople -- Joe's daily life depends on the work they do. Helping them keep their books clean and their businesses healthy isn't just a service. It's the whole point.

Fair, Transparent, and Tied to the Work
Every business is different, so pricing reflects the actual work involved -- not a one-size-fits-all package. Work is billed based on time and complexity, and a clear estimate is provided before anything begins.
Some clients prefer monthly support; others work quarterly or annually around GST or year-end. Catch-up or cleanup work is quoted based on how far behind you are and the level of activity in the accounts. Whatever your situation, you'll know the cost before we start.

Common Questions
Do you work with businesses outside your local area?
Yes. The focus is Leduc County, Parkland County, and Brazeau County, but working remotely is straightforward. If you're elsewhere in Alberta, reach out and we'll figure out if it makes sense.
What if my books are behind?
That's one of the most common reasons people get in touch. Being behind isn't unusual, and it's fixable. I can help you get caught up and set up a system that keeps things current going forward.
Do I need to be using specific accounting software?
I work primarily with QuickBooks Online. It's reliable, widely supported, and plays well with most accountants. If you're on a different system, we can review your setup and work out the best path forward -- whether that means staying where you are or making a switch.
