Joe Lentini — Founder, Prairieline Bookkeeping

Before starting Prairieline, Joe worked at an accounting firm where he regularly saw small businesses arrive at tax time with books in serious disarray. By the time they reached a CPA, the cost to fix the problem was enormous — and sometimes the damage was already done. The lesson was hard to miss: the best time to help a business isn't after the crisis. It's before it.

That experience led Joe to go work directly inside a small business that needed significant bookkeeping help. It reinforced the same lesson from a different angle. When a business is that far behind, the messy books aren't the problem — they're the symptom. He came away with a clear mission: help small businesses build clean, reliable bookkeeping systems before things get out of hand.

Joe started Prairieline Bookkeeping because he wanted to help more than one business at a time. When you work inside a single company, you can only ever help one owner. Prairieline exists to change that. Based in Leduc, Alberta, Prairieline works with small businesses locally and remotely across the province.

Joe holds a keen understanding of the bookkeeping challenges specific to Alberta small businesses — from oil field contractors managing irregular income, to farmers navigating seasonal cash flow, to trades and owner-operators who are too busy running their business to keep up with their books. That hands-on experience is what Prairieline is built on.

Small businesses are the backbone of the Alberta economy. The oil contractors, the farmers, the tradespeople — Joe's daily life depends on the work they do. Helping them keep their books clean and their businesses healthy isn't just a service. It's the whole point.
